Mattan Klein Quartet – June 19, Segal Studio LiveEvents June 13, 2016 3131 Mattan Klein Quartet Jazz infused with a mix of Brazilian, Israeli and other world music. Mattan Klein was born and raised in Jerusalem where he studied at the Rubin Academy. He graduated with honours from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Mattan has performed on stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, NJPAC, among others. His original compositions have earned him awards such as the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and the USA Songwriting Competition. He has received scholarships from the AICF, The municipality of Jerusalem and the Israeli Ministry of Culture. He performs regularly with some of the most renowned Israeli songwriters such as Miki Gavrielov, Alon Olearchik and Shlomo Gronich. Mattan is a gifted ensemble instructor and an original arranger, teaching and giving clinics and workshops across Israel, including the prestigious Thelma Yellin High School for Performing Arts. He is the music director and producer at the Hof Hasharon Regional Council.
