Cadillac Music returns to The Wheel Club – Friday, March 6 The Montrealer March 3, 2015 8171 Cadillac Music performs the songs that were the life soundtrack of people coming of age in the 60s and 70s; from Rock ‘n’ Roll to R&B Cadillac Music is bringing their high energy mixture of rock ‘n’ roll and R&B classic hits back to The Wheel Club in NDG on Friday, March 6. The word is getting out that the six-man band combines the rock ‘n’ roll and soul music of the 60s and 70s into a show that is often described as Rocket Soul. Whatever it is – the audience enjoys the performance and keeps the dance floor packed, singing along with the songs that everyone knows by heart. One woman enthusiastically commented; “I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun dancing with my husband – where else can we dance to this music? Cadillac Music has built up a solid following at the legendary club on Cavendish in NDG. Friday nights are devoted to rock ‘n’ roll, and dancing the night away to the hits from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It all started when there was a Hit Parade, a Billboard Top 100; and songs were performed and recorded in increments of three minutes. There was an innocence and vitality to the music of The Drifters, The Beach Boys, Elvis, and The Beatles. Rock ‘n’ Roll was played alongside Rhythm ‘n’ Blues on the radio. The six musicians of Cadillac Music were part of that scene, performing at dances, clubs and concerts. When My Girl and Ain’t Too Proud To Beg by The Temptations were played on the radio right alongside California Girls by The Beach Boys or Please Mr. Postman by The Beatles.
