Musical Voyages of Marco Polo – February 23, at Maison Symphonique

This musical adventure takes us onto the Silk Road, following the steps of the celebrated Venetian merchant Marco Polo, who set out for China in the 13th century. The performance is shaped by a dialogue between musical cultures represented by seasoned artists of great virtuosity. The two renown ensembles—En Chordais (Greece) and Constantinople—will be joined by the sublime Uzbek singer Nodira Pirmatova,  Indian sarangi Master Dhruba Ghosh, and the outstanding Chinese pipa player Liu Fang. From the heart of Europe to the Far East, the adventures of Marco Polo conjure up a fascinating era in the history of mankind.
