Perennial Montreal favourite brings his band and acclaimed Breakfast in America world tour to Place des Arts on October 17 and 18

The legendary songwriter and vocalist Roger Hodgson, co-founder and original singer-songwriter from Supertramp, continues his 2013 world tour with a return to Montreal on October 18 at Place des Arts’ Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier. Roger will take the stage with his band to perform the songs that became anthems for a generation; including unforgettable songs such as Take the Long Way Home, Give a Little Bit, The Logical Song, Breakfast in America, Dreamer, School, Even in the Quietest Moments, It’s Raining Again, and Fool’s Overture.

Montreal has always been a city close to Roger’s heart, as evidenced in his selection to use the 2006 concert at Place des Arts to produce the DVD Take the Long Way Home – Live in Montreal. Montrealers have embraced Roger as one of their most beloved artists, filling the venue time and time again since the filming of his only DVD to date.

“I’m very pleased to be adding a second show at Place de Arts and that the love affair and the long history that I have with the people and the city of Montreal is still so much alive. I’m very excited for everyone to hear the band and the show I am bringing which I believe is the best ever and audiences are going to be taken on a rich and memorable journey with many surprises.” …Roger Hodgson

“To the adoring fans who rise to their feet as Hodgson and his four-piece backing band take the stage … it might as well be 1979 all over again.”  Rolling Stone

“This is the real deal: a legendary music man, in brilliant form and shimmering presence, supported by a tight, terrific band. An evening with Roger Hodgson will raise your standards of concert-going.”  Huffington Post

“All these years I thought I was a Supertramp fan when actually I was and am a Roger Hodgson fan.”  David Wild, Contributing Editor, Rolling Stone

Universally hailed as one of the most gifted composers and lyricists of our time, Roger Hodgson helped define a generation of progressive rock, and wrote and sang Supertramp’s globally successful and enduring anthems – timeless songs that helped the band sell well over 60 million albums to date. His unmistakable voice also propels Supertramp fan favorites that he created such as Hide in Your Shell, Child of Vision, Don’t Leave Me Now, and Lord is it Mine. In concert, Hodgson also delivers select songs such as In Jeopardy and Lovers in the Wind from his five solo album releases.
Uniting generations at his concerts, Hodgson transports baby boomers back to their youth and gives younger generations a taste of why his heartfelt songs have endured. Audiences are once again experiencing the magic and spirit that Hodgson created with Supertramp. Hodgson reflected, “I love performing these songs which continue to resound for me as a performer and for the fans.  My songs come from a very personal place inside me and they carry my beliefs and my dreams and my philosophy of life.  I understand the deep connection that fans have with my songs that have been a part of so many peoples’ lives around the world.”
