Ochestre Métropolitain – a season of musical discovery The Montrealer August 20, 2012 2993 Single tickets now on sale to for the 2012-2013 season For the 2012/2013 season, the Ochestre Métropolitain will present 9 different programs: Dvoøák and Rachmaninoff in exile, movie musical scores, Bach, Bruckner and Mahler, American composers, Vivaldi and his famous Four Seasons, a Prestige Concert marking Verdi’s 200th birthday, extraordinary talented emerging young musicians and a Strauss program with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, which will join forces with the orchestra to close the season. A star-studded cast of talented artists, among them three first chairs of the Orchestre Métropolitain, Yukari Cousineau (violin), Simon Aldrich (clarinet) and Marie-Andrée Benny (flute), four magnificent voices giving verve to Verdi’s Requiem (Amber Wagner, Karen Cargill, John Mac Master and Andrew Foster-Williams), Suzie Leblanc, a long-time collaborator with Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, as well as their composer-in-residence, Éric Champagne, all making for quality and musical synergy.
