The expressive Leonore Overture No. 3 is so compelling that it is often performed without the opera Fidelio which it is supposed to accompany. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 impresses with its beauty and refined writing. Returning to the OM after a stay with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, trumpet player Stéphane Beaulac premiers the Trumpet Concerto of Montrealer-by-adoption Stacey Brown, with whom the Orchestre has worked in the past and whose music charmed musicians and audiences alike.
