Jayson Gillham

Australian-British pianist Jayson Gillham has reached the finals in some of the world’s leading piano competitions, including the Leeds, Van Cliburn, and Chopin competitions. He is best known to Montrealers as the first-prize winner at the Montreal International Music Competition in 2014. Internationally regarded for his compelling performances across the globe, he has played with, among others, the London Philharmonic, the Hallé and English Chamber Orchestras, the Montreal Symphony and orchestras in China (Wuhan) and Australia (Melbourne and Brisbane). Chamber music forms an important part of this pianist’s career; he has collaborated with the Jerusalem, Carducci, Brentano, Ruysdael and Flinders string quartets. After graduating in 2007 from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Australia, Mr. Gillham moved to London to pursue a Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music.
In 2012, he was named Commonwealth Musician of the Year and Gold Medalist of the Royal Over-Seas League 60th Annual Music Competition. Jayson Gillham is Cultural Ambassador of the Hearts for Africa (Amani) Foundation, an NGO which empowers local people to overcome poverty in rural Tanzania. LMMC debut.
