Ric’key Pageot | Classic Black

Over the past 20 years, Montreal-born pianist, accordionist, producer, composer, and musical director Ric’key Pageot has worked with such superstars as Madonna, Christina Aguilera, and Cirque du Soleil on their world tours. He has also written music, recorded, or toured with major music icons like Diana Ross, Cher, Earth Wind & Fire, Jill Scott, and—closer to home—Corneille and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.

Montreal-born pianist, accordionist, producer, composer and music director, Ric’key Pageot comes from a musical family of Haitian descent. As a child he studied in the sought-after professional arts music program, Pierre-Laporte High School in Montreal, studying classical piano, and taking advanced courses in music theory, history and ear training. During his time there, he performed as a recitalist and chamber musician, and as a chorister, performing in concert with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, led by Charles Dutoit, at the renowned Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at La Place Des Arts.

Back in the city for a rare Montreal appearance, Ric’key is returning to his classical roots, performing piano works written by renowned and lesser known Black composers spanning the last three centuries. A truly captivating experience for the audience.
