A Unique Experience: Bringing the Great North to the Heart of Montreal Although cold and snow are integral parts of Quebec’s heritage, traveling out of Montreal to enjoy winter activities is often challenging for many. That’s why Montréal Boréal’s mission is to bring Quebec’s folklore and winter culture to the Quartiers du Canal. Friday will feature a luminous parade, a fire artist performance, and the return of Disco Nordique evening. Vinyl Caravan Soundsystem, a DJ collective specializing in vinyl, will get the crowd dancing inside a heated dome. On Saturday and Sunday, festivalgoers can continue to enjoy this igloo, which will host a daytime commercial fair and a Groovy & Chill music evening on Saturday. A selection of local beverages from Siboire, Messorem, Fou de l’île, and Nasdrow will be available. Along the pedestrian area, Parc Oméga and Parcs Canada will offer exciting nature-themed activities. Musical storytelling by Les Animeries, percussion workshops by Samajam, strolling singers, theatrical performances, and other animations will also be featured throughout the weekend. Sweet treats like tire d’érable from La Cabane Sucrée and hot chocolate provided by Caisse Desjardins du Sud-Ouest will delight food lovers. After a sugary break, why not try yoga by Matea or beginner snowboard lessons for kids with Burton? For dog lovers, La Conciergerie Pawsome will host free workshops, including pet first aid, photo sessions with Trisha L Photography, and more surprises. Music enthusiasts, dancers, and instrumentalists can gather on Saturday night at Bar de Courcelle for a Traditional Jam Session with the band Chasse-Balcon. Visitors can also enjoy iconic neighborhood restaurants like BarBara, Arthurs, Llyodie’s, and Tran Cantine Vietnamienne. The Festivities Continue the Following Week! For the next seven days, visitors are invited to continue enjoying the winter decor, featuring about 40 fir trees forming an enchanting trail along with forest-animal-shaped structures perfect for photos. A diverse program awaits for the rest of the week: children’s shows, creative activities, juggling and line dancing workshops… there’s something for everyone in the family! For those with no Valentine’s Day plans, Bonbon Duo will host a fun and interactive event for the occasion. The UQROP (Union for the Conservation of Birds of Prey), dedicated to preserving birds of prey and their habitats, will also be present with live birds to educate the public.
