Presented by the Dollard Centre for the Arts (DCA), the long-running DDO Fine Arts and Crafts Holiday Market launches the season of holiday markets with new and returning vendors. Continuing its over 30-year history, this respected, high-caliber marketplace in a gorgeous, renovated building includes the crafts market, a fine arts space, a reinvented food & beverage experience, and a heated rooftop terrace resto/bar. Innovative, original and authentic creations can be found at this year’s non-denominational DDO Fine Arts and Crafts Holiday Market on Saturday, November 9 & Sunday, November 10 at the Dollard-des-Ormeaux Civic Centre from 10am-4pm. The event is a vibrant celebration of the remarkable talent and creativity in the West Island, Greater Montreal and surrounding areas. Free admission, parking and coat check.

The DDO Fine Arts and Crafts Holiday Market features works from over 75 incredible multi-generational, diverse, dedicated artists and artisans. Along with an outdoor rooftop bar at l’Étoile filante with a menu of holiday-themed cocktails, mocktails and hot drinks, shoppers go on a pre-holiday adventure including: the exquisite crafts market, the Artists’ Association of Dollard’s annual exhibition and sale; and a healthy lunch from Palépops and gourmet coffee from Lucia Maison de Café at the Craft Café, along with specialized food vendors throughout the Market. There are finds for all ages, budgets and tastes.

Fun themed drinks include:
Hot drinks: hot chocolate and mulled apple cider (with option to add a shot of Baileys or rum)
Mocktails: The Candy Cane (cream soda, milk, peppermint extract, syrup and a candy cane) and The Rudolph (orange juice, cranberry juice and 7UP)
Cocktails: The Grinch (melon liqueur, grenadine, rum and 7UP) and The Snowflake (milk, baileys, whipped cream, rimmed with white chocolate flakes)

As well, donations at the door are gratefully accepted for the West Island Mission and the Canadian Legion, and at the coat check for Trails Recreation Centre who run a camp for neurodiverse children. There will also be a fun Lego table for the kids from the Inventor STEM School.

The Market is not only a welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful airy building, but patrons are presented with an extensive selection of unique, quality gifts for their holiday season while directly sustaining local artisans. Here, passions are shared and livelihoods supported directly instead of big box stores or online multinationals.

This outstanding annual market, recognized by the crafting community as one of the biggest events in the calendar year, brings light to the pre-holiday season.

From Megan Bradley, special events coordinator at DCA, “Our exceptional vendors are the highlight of the weekend; the precious artisans that spend much of their year creating distinct objects to sell at the Holiday Market. These are the people whose hard work and endless dedication to their métier breathe life into this event and add to the beautiful community spirit of DDO. There really is something special for everyone on your shopping list—parents, kids, teachers, friends, office staff, siblings, team members, and maybe even a little something for yourself.”

The vast array of multi-sized, attractive booths includes, to list just a few, numerous pottery and ceramic artists including Rabbit Loves Raven, remarkable woodwork from John McCracken, Fraser and Son, A&S Créations and Isabelle and Jacques; Nutopia offering massages; Boutique Femade’s bags and accessories handmade by Indigenous Colombian women, Créations Elaheh’s children’s books about emotional regulation and mindfulness; knitwear and candles from Moonstone & Myth, Veni Etiam Photography, Rocca Lifestyle Jewelry, and Jima Engraving to personalize any treasures. As well, distinctive jewelry, body and skin care, accessories, stationery, paintings, gift items, pieces from the Beaconsfield Quilters Guild, floral arrangements and holiday décor.

There is also something for every palate—sweet, spicy, vegan, gluten-free, savoury and salty. From treats like handcrafted luxury chocolates and macarons (all of which sold out last year) to healthy goodness, options include Zano Macarons, Gluten-free Dreams, Chocolat comme ça!, Ierba medicinal teas and elixirs, BonBons Gaal, 2 Chefs Ellie & Phil, Little Beans Bakery, Kitchy Cupcakes’ exclusive flavours, Elfe du Village fudge, Ladykillers Hot Sauces, and for the pooches in your life, Gâteries Buddy Treats.

Holiday joy comes early this year!
