RAMEN RAMEN Festival – October 14-27, 2024 LiveEvents October 6, 2024 616 The 3rd edition of this celebration of the iconic Japanese noodle dish, will be held from Monday, October 14 to Sunday, October 27, 2024 at participating restaurants in Montreal. The aim of the event is to give ramen lovers a memorable two-week celebration of this cult dish. For two weeks, festival-goers will be invited to taste a featured ramen in each participating restaurant, and will be able to vote for their favorites. In addition, each member of a quality jury will award a “Coup de Coeur” for their favorite ramen. To promote the event, the route and the restaurants, an interactive online map will be available on the ASIASIE website from October 7. “Ramen, Japan’s most popular hobby, has overtaken sushi among international foodies in terms of popularity and coolness. In recent years, the quality of its offerings has grown by leaps and bounds in many cities around the world, supported by a growing group of enthusiasts. RAMEN RAMEN is a celebration of this new reign and a desire to encourage the development of ramen offerings outside Japan.” – Thien Vu Dang, co-director of the Festival LAUNCH PARTY + SCREENING OF THE FILM TAMPOPO In collaboration with the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, the Festival will take place in the Agora du Coeur des Sciences at UQAM on Monday, October 14 from 5pm to 10pm, with the film screening at 7pm. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy a ramen prepared on site by Sansotei, winner of the Prix du Public in 2022 and 2023, and to watch the cult film TAMPOPO.
