A Covey of Birds on harpsichord – October 9, 2024 LiveEvents October 1, 2024 283 Bourgie Hall presents Luc Beauséjour, harpsichord – A Covey of Birds Flemish harpsichords inspired numerous composers, as well as painters such as Vermeer and Rubens. To mark the restoration of Bourgie Hall’s Keith Hill harpsichord, Luc Beauséjour presents a program that will delight ornithologists and music lovers alike. Harpsichordist and organist Luc Beauséjour is renowned for the elegance, virtuosity, and expressiveness of his playing, which has won him an enthusiastic audience and the continuing praise of critics and music specialists. Luc Beauséjour is the recipient of seven Prix Opus from the Conseil québécois de la musique and two Félix from the ADISQ Gala. Since 1994, Luc Beauséjour has been musical director of Clavecin en concert. He teaches at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and at the Université de Montréal, where he obtained a doctorate. M. Beauséjour leads a very active performing schedule in Canada and abroad. He was invited to perform the Goldberg Variations at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto for a CBC commemoration of the great pianist’s birthday—testimony to the recognition he has earned as one of Canada’s finest musicians. M. Beauséjour has led more than 35 recording projects as a soloist and musical director. He is heard regularly on both CBC and Radio-Canada.
