Teeming with action and bursting with unforgettable melodies, this opera is sure to make you break out into laughter. In the whimsical approach of stage director Joan Font and the Spanish troupe Els Comediants, this production cleverly incorporates some circus arts, acrobatics, and pantomime. For the occasion, the Orchestre Métropolitain will reunite with Spanish conductor Pedro Halffter who conducted the OM in Madama Butterfly in 2023. Synopsis The youthful Count Almaviva is smitten with the beautiful Rosina, a resourceful young lady jealously shielded by her guardian, Don Bartolo, who secretly plans to marry her. Rosina is charmed by the Count Almaviva’s serenading. The roguish barber Figaro comes to the two young lovers’ aid. A proliferation of schemes and mistaken identities ensues, all of which are as hilarious as they are effective.
