Ceramics, creative soaps, woodworking, macarons, artwork… and more!

Presented by the Dollard Centre for the Arts (DCA), the long-running DDO Fine Arts and Crafts Holiday Market returns bigger than ever with new and returning vendors. Continuing its over 30-year history, this respected, high-caliber marketplace in a gorgeous, renovated building includes the crafts market, fine arts space, delicious food and beverage options, and a heated rooftop terrace resto/bar. Innovative, original and authentic creations can be found at this year’s non-denominational DDO Fine Arts and Crafts Holiday Market on Saturday Nov. 11 & Sunday Nov. 12 from 10am-4pm at the Dollard-des-Ormeaux Civic Centre. The event is a vibrant celebration of the remarkable talent and creativity in the West Island and Greater Montreal. Free admission, parking and coat check.

The DDO Fine Arts and Crafts Holiday Market features works from over 60 multi-generational, dedicated artists and artisans. Along with an outdoor rooftop bar at l’Étoile filante with a menu of holiday-themed drinks, shoppers go on a pre-holiday adventure including: the exquisite crafts market, the Artists’ Association of Dollard’s annual exhibition and sale, and curated snacks, meals and gourmet coffee at the Craft Café from Boulangerie Mira. On offer is something for all ages, budgets and tastes, as well as a number of booths whose sales benefit various causes.

The Market is not only a welcoming atmosphere in a beautifully designed building, but patrons are offered an extensive selection of unique, quality handcrafted  gifts for their holiday season while directly sustaining local artisans. Here, creative passions are shared and livelihoods supported directly instead of big box stores.

This outstanding annual market, recognized by the crafting community as one of the biggest events in the calendar year, brings light to the pre-holiday season.

A small standout sampling of the vast array includes jewelry (Silver Dragon), floral arrangements (Zu Zu), accessories (Elie’s Bows and Lulu’s Lanyards), woodworking (Fraser and Son and John McCracken), body and skin care (Savonnerie Le Chat Noir Nu), ceramics (Pot de Crème) and gift items (Meraki and Artisanat Noha), along with pet products, photography, stationary, paintings, pieces from the Beaconsfield Quilters’ Guild, and holiday decor. Keep an eye out for the sheep and goat farm pictures from Microferme Retour au Source who craft wool dryer balls, soaps and natural wool right from the source.

There will also be incredible treats from handcrafted luxury chocolates to wholesome healthy goodness like Zano Macarons, La Tarterie, Gluten Free Dreams, Bals Provisions, Lab à Mémé, and Chocolat comme ça.

The DDO Fine Arts and Crafts Holiday Market is meaningful for Managing Director Patrick Charron, who grew up in the West Island, “I am delighted to promote and encourage the talented DDO and further afield arts communities with ongoing opportunities like this valuable, annual event which attracts people from all over the city.”
