Choeur classique de Montréal presents

Stabat Mater

Devastated by the successive deaths of his three first children, within a two year time lapse, Dvořák composes a timeless Stabat Mater considered a masterpiece of musical art for choir and orchestra.

The 80 choristers of the Chœur classique de Montréal will have the best part in expressing the feelings of the grieving father who choose to leave to the voices the preponderance of nuances and musical lines conducive to the transmission of emotion.

It is with a fugue bringing the listeners to a more serene conclusion, like a half-open door to hope and peace, that Dvořák ends his Stabat Mater which has delighted audiences around the world since its creation in 1880.
