Music at the Movies
A Tribute to the Music of the Seventh art

Following their success with last year’s Music at the Movies, the FILMharmonic Orchestra returns for yet another epic adventure across cinematic history. For their March 11th concert at Maison symphonique, the FILMHarmonic Orchestra, composed of 40 professional musicians, will be led by the talented young conductor Francis Choinière. Rediscover the soundtracks of renowned classics: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Godfather, Dances with Wolves, and many more!

The concert will feature three pieces sung by guest soprano Sarah Dufresene, who will enchant the audience with her extraordinary virtuosity and musical sensitivity. She was awarded the top prize of Stingray Music Rising Star in the 2019 Opéra de Montréal talent gala and developed her reputation having performed for various companies and orchestras across the country including, Grand Philharmonic Choir of Kitchener Waterloo, Opera McGill, Halifax Summer Opera, and Orchestre Metropolitain.

Also among the repertoire are masterpieces recorded for the FILMharmonic’s recent album, Music at the Movies. These include the themes from Schindler’s List, Cinema Paradiso, and Psycho! Behold the talents of the orchestra, as it brings to life the magic that made these films so memorable in the hearts and minds of generations!
