I Musici de Montréal presents

Dinuk Wijeratne: Roots and Inspirations

Sri Lankan-born Canadian composer, conductor and pianist, Dinuk Wijeratne was described by the New York Times as “exuberantly creative”. During the concert, he invites the audience to explore with him the sounds of his musical universe, from the Indian tabla to his own works, not to mention Mozart, Bartok and Corigliano. And because Quebec is part of that universe, his Suite for piano and strings, co-commissioned by I Musici and the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra.
