12th Annual “Art By The Water Exhibit & Sale” at the Beaconsfield Yacht Club in aid of Adolescent Colon Cancer

“Life is Better with Art” is Leslie Portsmouth’s motto. How true, there is so much beauty all around us inspiring us every day like the flowers in our garden, and magnificent scenery but also the things that inspires us from within, such as memories formed by travels, our families and our life experiences. Putting paint on a canvas and expressing oneself is very gratifying.  Thus it is a proud moment when the last stroke of paint is applied to the canvas and the final signature marks the completion of the artwork as stated by artist and exhibit organizer Aud’rey Riley.

Leslie is one of the participating artists exhibiting at the 12th annual Art By The Water Exhibit and Sale on April 26th – refreshments and vernissage 6pm – 9pm and April 27, 28th at 10am – 5pm at the charming and historic Beaconsfield Yacht Club.

Summer Foliage by Ginette Parizeau

Ginette Parizeau has a rewarding career as a project manager for a well-known Montreal-based home builder. With her knowledge and experience, she helps homeowners customize their house, selects the materials and colours to realize the home of their dreams.

Ginette is a watercolour artist and has studied illustrations, drawing and graphic design, fine arts and the History of the Arts. She has participated in workshops in Canada and the United States and was accepted in numerous juried shows winning many awards for her artworks. As stated by Ginette, “I try to keep it simple, the beauty of nature touches me and gives me the desire to paint. Light and its effects on objects, and contracts that define the shape of things are among my interests”. Ginette excels in painting street scenes, architectural buildings, animals, landscapes and other subjects. She paints in her studio from her photographs taken on her travels. She then studies the composition, reviews and rearranges if necessary, before drawing the final composition with pencil on watercolour paper, then applies the colour with a brush directly and freely. Ginette feels that watercolour paintings must be spontaneous, fresh, transparent and bright which is very evident in her paintings.
