The Santa Claus Parade 2018

The 68th edition of the Santa Claus Parade will take place on Saturday, November 17 at 11 am!

On Saturday November 17, young and old are invited to Sainte-Catherine West, between Du Fort and Saint-Urbain streets, to experience the excitement of the most popular Christmas event in Quebec: the Santa Claus Parade! A must for many, this wonderful annual celebration is an enchanting, musical launch of the beginning of the holiday season in downtown Montreal.

Presented by Destination centre-ville and produced by Le Carnaval de Québec, the Santa Claus Parade has become a tradition for thousands of visitors. This year, it will feature more than twenty floats, including the Christmas Fairy’s and of course Santa Claus’s, as well as the talent of a host of artists, musicians, dancers and street performers. There will also be new features for this 68th year, including a fun float inspired by winter sports (hockey, ski, etc.) and a second by the snowmobile, the emblematic winter vehicle invented in Quebec !

As well, Annie Villeneuve and Michaël will sing some holiday classics on the Noël une tradition en chanson float, while the well-known singer and host Marie-Eve Janvier will be surrounded by children on the float dedicated to Sainte-Justine’s Tree of Lights campaign. Also, among the various scenes that will spread holiday magic over more than a kilometre, one of the most anticipated will definitely be the much-loved cook and singer Ari Cui Cui’s (Ariane Gauthier) who, with her sparkling presence and contagious good humour, is sure to delight the little ones!

Each year, the Christmas Fairy’s presentation is one of the parade’s favourites. Again this year, the sparkling host and columnist Vanessa Pilon was given the task of preparing the crowd for Santa’s arrival. No doubt that this new mother’s inner child will be filled with wonder as she finds herself aboard this mythical float for a second year!
