Festival International de Jazz de Montreal presents

Laurent de Wilde – New Monk Trio

Genius pianist and composer Thelonious Monk would have turned 100 this year. His music lives on, to say the least… And with the recent album New Monk Trio, Laurent de Wilde (piano)—THE Monk specialist (as well as the author of a book on the legend)—is joined by Regard (double bass) and Donald Kontomanou (drums) for a personal, original rereading of the repertoire of the master, proving just how his musical modernity remains utterly timeless.
