The Tallis Scholars

This programme vividly recalls the importance of two great masters of Franco-Flemish polyphony, Josquin des Prez and Heinrich Isaac, whose death 500 years ago is being marked this year. Both composers’ sacred and secular works conveyed an innovative brand of expressivity to a cappella choral writing.

For more than four decades, The Tallis Scholars have brought the great English choral tradition to audiences throughout the world. Renowned for their “timeless nobility” (The Ottawa Citizen), the ensemble stands, incontestably, as the international leader of chamber choirs.
