Festival Mondial de la bière (Montreal Beer Fest)

Beer, music and happy discoveries in a festive atmosphere!

The 24th edition of the Mondial de la bière, America’s most important international beer festival,  will satisfy any beer lover, both newcomer and epicurian, up to the finest connoisseur!

At the same time, The Mondial de la bière announces the upcoming third edition of the Brewing Week, to take place from June 12 to 18. This event is back for a week with all of Montreal getting together to offer visitors a wide range of activities linked to beer and beer gastronomy!

The Mondial de la bière is a unique tasting festival based on learning, tasting, sharing and responsible consumption. It differs from other beer festivals in its exclusive offer of international beers, the presence of key players from the world’s brewing industry, as well as a strong representation from Quebec.

NOVELTIES
• MUSICAL PROGRAMMING AND SHOWS Musical performances are coming back in force to the festival in 2017: shows, traveling bands, DJs and background music will be everywhere!

• VIRTUAL COUPONS The Mondial de la bière announces the arrival of virtual tasting coupons! Instead of paper coupons, visitors will purchase a «connected» card, pre-charged with the amount of virtual coupons of their choice. Kiosks will be equipped with mobile scanners to receive the payments. Stations all over the site will allow visitors to check their balance and they can simply go to a couponnerie when it’s time to recharge their card.

RETURNING BELOVED ACTIVITIES:
• MBEER GUIDED TOURS A selection of 30 minute thematic tasting tours accompanied by experts such Marilou Caty, director of the MBeer school of beerology and Serge Noël, beer specialist and teacher at the MBeer school of beerology. The Tours are free but the products sampled must be paid for. Registration on site, at the MBeer school of beerology kiosk (#700).

• WORKSHOPS The educational part of the Mondial de la bière includes a variety of workshops to present beer as part of many pairings: beers and cheeses, beers and chocolate, beers and finger food and even beers and music! Admission is free but the products sampled must be paid for.

BREWING WEEK (JUNE 12 TO 18)
All of Montreal gets together for a week, to offer visitors a wide range of activities linked to beer and beer gastronomy! Seven eventful days when Montreal becomes Beer Central!

• SORTIES FLAVEURS Initiated in 2013, Sorties Flaveurs proposes a list of audacious Montreal restaurants that agreed to put meals cooked with beer on their menu. The event’s mission is to reunite beer and fine cuisine and to present beer as a noble product with multiple flavors.

The 28 participating restaurants: Au Petit Extra / Bagatelle Bistro / Beaver Hall / Bier Markt / Brasserie Haricanna / Brasserie T! / Boswell / Bistro la Cervoise / Chez Ma Grosse Truie Chérie / Cremy / Hoogan & Beaufort / L’Assomoir Notre-Dame / La Coupole / Leche Desserts / Le Saint-Bock / Les Canailles / Les Cons Servent / Les Héritiers / Les 400 Coups / Manitoba / Osco! / Pastaga / Patrice Pâtissier / Pub Brewsky / Station Host / Toqué! / Trou de Beigne / Vargas Steakhouse and Sushi.

• THE « OFF MONDIAL » Artisanal breweries, micro-breweries and beer bars invite the beer lovers to their special evenings, an opportunity to discover special or collaborative brews, often in the presence of foreign brewers.
