Eureka!

Three days of fun with over 100 FREE interactive activities for the whole family

EUREKA!, the big celebration of science, is a popular family event that is both informative and fun. The 11th edition will kick off on June 9 with a brand new program inspired by the theme of Dreams. Why? Because dreams inspire curiosity, and curiosity inspires discovery. Whether trying to push the limits of the known universe, improve the health of our planet or develop a revolutionary invention, scientists are driven and guided by their dreams and aspirations. Martin Carli, the genius on the quiz show Génial! and the festival spokesperson for the second consecutive year, knows a thing or two about that. He is again inviting the public to the Old Port of Montreal from June 9 to 11, 2017. It is an invitation to discover, experiment, manipulate and understand the primordial role of the imagination in scientific research.

“When we imagined the Eureka! Festival a little over ten years ago, we also had a dream: to create an event that would bring people together and feed their curiosity about science and technology.
Since 2007, 660,000 visitors have lived the dream with us.”
– Richard Deschamps, Vice-President, Concertation Montréal and L’île du savoir.

“Once again this year, Eureka, promises to put the public in touch with Montreal scientists.” –
Yves Mauffette, President of L’île du savoir.

The EUREKA! Festival is a unique opportunity to meet real scientists and immerse yourself in science thanks to dozens of totally free interactive activities. There will be eighteen “hair-raising” presentations and shows, as part of Science Takes the Stage, sponsored by Solar Stratos. Not to mention some 60 hands-on creation and experimentation workshops, in the festival’s five thematic zones: Ingenuity, presented by Fonds de recherche du Québec, Sustainable Development, presented by Gaz Métro, Nature, Human, and Air and Space.

“The success of the Eureka! Festival is the result of a close collaboration between the Montréal Science Center, L’île du savoir and the many partners who work together to create a program recognized for its quality and diversity.” – Isabel Dansereau, Director of the Montreal Science Centre
