Pointe-à-Callière’s Port Symphonies

23rd edition

A true Montréal tradition, Pointe-à-Callière’s Port Symphonies offer unique outdoor concerts. Each year, a composer is called upon to create musical compositions with the horns of the ships moored at the Quays of the Old Port, right by the Museum. Train whistles, drums, and a variety of other “instruments” join in, delighting enthusiastic crowds with remarkable listening experiences.

The 23rd edition of Pointe-à-Callière’s Port Symphonies will be composed by Sonia Paço-Rocchia, a Québéco-European singer songwritter. To underscore the 375th anniversary of Montreal, her composition will be inspired by Jeanne-Mance et Paul de Chomedey, Sieur de Maisonneuve’s arrival in Montreal, in 1642.
