Musician, singer, songwriter, and actor, Sting was the principal songwriter, lead singer, and bassist for The Police from 1977 to 1984, before launching a solo career. As a solo musician and a member of The Police, he has received 16 Grammy Awards, and sold over 100 million records.

Sting’s musical style has incorporated elements of rock, jazz, reggae, new age and world-beat.

In 2014, Sting’s musical The Last Ship, set in a struggling shipyard in 80’s, made its Broadway debut.

In 2016, he and Peter Gabriel undertook the critically acclaimed “Rock, Paper, Scissors” tour – a short 21 date summer tour of North America. The dates saw Sting and Gabriel performing an intriguing set with both bands on stage throughout the performances even performing each other’s songs. In November of 2016, he released After a  a new “rock” album ’57th & 9th’ (named after the location in NYC of the studio where the album was recorded).
