Corps Amour Anarchie (Love Body Anarchy)

The year 2016 marks the 100th birthday of Léo Ferré. To pay tribute to this great poet, PPS Danse and Coup de cœur francophone are again partnering to produce Corps Amour Anarchie (Love Body Anarchy), an interdisciplinary performance celebrating the work of this great artist of the 20th century.

This creation seeks out Léo Ferré’s work to reveal his spirit, his music, his words, so exquisitely vibrant, and to offer them to you. This unique encounter takes place in the interaction between the artist’s repertoire and contemporary dance.

Conceived and directed by Pierre-Paul Savoie, Artistic Director of PPS Danse, the show, under the musical direction of Philippe B and Philippe Brault, brings together 15 artists on stage, including four singers, five musicians and six dancers.

The voices of Bïa, Alexandre Désilets, Michel Faubert and Philippe B, together with the choreographies of Hélène Blackburn, David Rancourt, Anne Plamondon, Jossua Collin-Dufour and Pierre-Paul Savoie, imbue the songs of Léo Ferré with an even greater relevance and magnificence.

Between love and anarchy, memory and the sea, hope and solitude, Ferré’s work inspires our imagination to proclaim the world’s poetry loud and clear.

The show’s grand premiere will be performed in Montreal as part of the 30th edition of the Coup de cœur francophone.
