The Ethnic Show

After breakout English performances at last summer’s Festival, one of Quebec’s biggest stars Rachid Badouri, is primed to take over the Ethnic Show, as part of the 2016 National Bank Club Series. Badouri is one of the most passionate, enthusiastic comedians, selling over 750,000 tickets during his career and becoming one of the most sought-after performers in the world. Included in the Ethnic Show is a gathering of some of the most diverse comedians with unique backgrounds and perspectives including; Nigerian-American Godfrey, Greek-American Yannis Pappas, Puerto Rican Gina Brillon from the Bronx, Jewish-American Jessica Kirson, Lebanese-American Nemr, and special guest and Festival favourite, Italian-American Dom Irrera.

The Ethnic Show will take place at Club Soda and Metropolis with 19 performances from July 13-28, 2016.

  • He’s  a Quebec-born Moroccan comedian
  • Received rave reviews for his performance on the Ethnic Show at JFL last summer
  • In 2014, Rachid performed his show Badouri Reloaded 126 times, garnering over 101,300 spectators
  • He’s a two-time Karv anti-gala Comedian of the Year winner
  • Badourdi Reloaded was the most lucrative and popular comedy show in Québec in 2014

  • Known as “The Dominator” in comedy circles, he was voted one of Comedy Central’s Best Comedians of all time
  • Television appearances include The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Show with David Letterman, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and he has also starred in his own Comedy specials
  • He currently hosts his own podcast Live from The Laugh Factory with Dom Irrera where he chats and riffs with other comedy luminaries
  • Has performed more often at JFL and at the Cats Laugh Festival in Killkenny Ireland, than any other American comedian

Ethnic Shiw - Godfrey

Godfrey

  • He grew up in Chicago and realized his irreverent style of comedy might be more than just a hobby while performing impressions of his college football teammates
  • As soon as he went pro, he immediately landed several high profile projects. Ben Stiller cast him to play himself in Zoolander, a performance that has since achieved cult status
  • He is perhaps best known for his stint as the “7UP Guy” in the beloved 7UP national campaign
  • He’s also made many television appearances including performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and recently starred in his own one-hour special for Comedy Central, Godfrey: Black By Accident.

Ethnic Show - Gina BrillonGina Brillon

  • Was born and raised in the Bronx, New York
  • Her first one-hour special, ‘Pacifically Speaking’, was produced by Gabriel Iglesias and debuted on NuvoTV last fall
  • Has made appearances on E!’s Chelsea Lately, AXS’ Gotham Comedy Live, and Late Night with Seth Meyers
  • Is also an accomplished singer, poet and actress and writer. Her pieces have appeared in the New York Post and Daily News among others
  • Was selected to be a Just For Laughs New Face in 2013!

  • He’s the host of AOL’s Original Series, 2 Point Lead. He was also the co-host of MSG’s sports fan show, The Bracket and the host of ABC’s Fusion Live on the Fusion Network

  • She was awarded “Best Female Comic” by the MAC association in New York City and recently accepted the Nightlife Award for “Best Stand up Comedian” in NYC
  • She has a strong social media presence. Her Youtube channel, The JessyK Show and her Facebook page, ComedianJessicaKirson, videos have over 10 million views
  • She has been featured on various television shows, including, NBC’s Last Comic Standing Seasons 2 and 3, The Nightly Show on Comedy Central and The Jim Gaffigan Show,  among several others

  • As a Lebanese/American comedian, he’s credited with pioneering the stand-up comedy scene throughout the Middle East
  • He has 7 full feature specials, and was on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine Middle East
  • Born and raised in San Diego, he holds the records for the biggest stand-up comedy shows in every country in the Middle East
  • He’s currently on his first world tour, which has gone on to sell out all over the U.S. and the Middle East
