2016 edition

Montreal Printed Art Festival

With a focus on surpassing boundaries, the first Montreal Printed Art Festival (MTLPAF) proposes to demonstrate the liveliness of the printmaking world in the greater metropolitan area. The activities include free open houses, technical demonstrations, meetings with artists, lectures and gatherings, as well as a programme of exhibitions to give visitors an opportunity to discover the evolution of printmaking practices which are growing increasingly multidisciplinary and hybridized in nature.

“ Free activities to discover the evolution of printmaking …”

The theme of this edition is “Pushing the limits of printmaking.” How are printmaking practices evolving or reacting to the digital age, how do traditional techniques persist, where is the expanding nature of plural-disciplinary practices leading? This thematic will be developed in the Round table on Saturday May 7.
