Festival International de Jazz de Montreal presents

Wayne Shorter Quartet

Opening act: Joey Alexander

Joey Alexander - Wayne Shorter

Joey Alexander

When legendary saxophonist-composer Wayne Shorter, winner of the 1996 Mile-Davis Award, returns to this Festival flanked by his brilliant quartet (Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade) —with whom he has stirred the passions of our jazzophiles many times over the decades—well, you can expect a major and memorable musical moment. And it gets better: when this apostle of spontaneity and musical freedom takes the stage of the Maison symphonique, a venue he has never performed in during the course of a 50-year career of musical exploration, it is quite simply a rendezvous no genuine music fan can miss! The concert opens with exceedingly young piano prodigy Joey Alexander, who has already conquered Planet Jazz at the age of 12!
