Specialist of French composer Olivier Messiaen, she recorded over twenty critically-acclaimed CDs. Her outstanding career led her to join forces with major musicians such as Marc-André Hamelin, the Quatuor Alcan, and the Arditti String Quartet. Passionate about making contemporary music more widely known, composers from all over the world send her their works, and many have written specifically for her. Lauded for his remarkable stage presence, cellist Yegor Dyachkov is an inspired recitalist, chamber musician and soloist. Since being proclaimed “Artist of the Year” (2000) by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, his discography already comprises several acclaimed recordings. He has gone on to perform throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia, Canada and the United States, making his New York debut at Lincoln Center in October 2000. He affords pride of place to contemporary musical creation, and composers such as Michael Oesterle, Jacques Hétu, André Prévost and Ana Sokolovic, among others, wrote works specifically for him. “A spectacular player” (Los Angeles Times), clarinettist Simon Aldrich leads a brilliant career. He has performed as soloist with the Toronto Symphony, Victoria Symphony, Chicago Classical Symphony, Chicago North Shore Chamber Symphony, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Orchestre Métropolitain and the Fanshawe Orchestra. His recording of Elliott Carter’s Clarinet Concerto won an Opus Award for “Best Contemporary Recording” in 2002. He is currently solo clarinet of the Orchestre Métropolitain and also a member of the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne.
