He enjoys an exclusive contract with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label and a level of popularity most artists can only dream of. Known for his flamboyant style and for his interpretations of Chopin and Liszt, he delivers to his audiences performances of overpowering emotion. In observance of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of French composer Edgar Varèse, Kent Nagano will also lead the OSM in a performance of the monumental Amériques, a score not unlike Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring and requiring an oversize orchestra that is kept busy nearly all the time.
