An Exceptional Duo will offer the audience a musical program reflecting the interests of both musicians, who will take turns performing classical and jazz pieces, bringing their two worlds together for a few numbers. Bassist Éric Lagacé and drummer Jim Doxas, two well-known musicians on the Montreal jazz scene, will also be part of the concert. The Competition seeks to discover and support young singers, violinists, and pianists who have distinguished themselves as masters of their art. Since the very first edition, dedicated to voice, in 2002, 2,300 candidates have applied to take part in the various editions.
