She has racked up several honours, including a “Best Debut Album” mention from International Piano magazine for her first disc. In this first appearance with the OSM, she performs Prokofiev’s popular Piano Concerto No. 3 alongside French conductor Jean-Claude Casadesus. The program will also include Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, “Pathétique,” irrefutably the composer’s musical testament. Of heart-rending beauty, the last movement is a premonition of his approaching death. Written to commemorate the 37th anniversary of the Revolution, Shostakovich’s Festive Overture completes this Russian-flavoured program.
