TAKE 6 – March 23, at the Gesù Theatre

and they’re coming to Montreal!

Celebrating 25 years of making the sweetest kind of vocal harmony, TAKE 6 will be in Montreal for the first time on March 23 at the Gesù Theatre to perform a concert benefitting the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Heralded by Quincy Jones as the “baddest vocal cats on the planet!’, TAKE 6 is the quintessential a cappella group and model for vocal genius. Best known for “Spread Love” and “I L-O-V-E You”, TAKE 6 is six virtuosic voices united in crystal clear harmony, against a backdrop of syncopated rhythms, innovative arrangements, and funky grooves that bubble into an intoxicating brew of gospel, jazz, R&B, and pop. You won’t believe your ears at what these guys can do with their voices!

With 10 GRAMMY Awards to their name, largely in the Best R&B, Jazz or Gospel performance categories, TAKE 6 is the most awarded vocal group in history. Founded in 1980 by Claude McKnight, the group has stuck together and been successful for over 25 years in large part due to four principles: faith, friendship, respect and the love of music. Faith has always been an important component of the group’s music. Their self-titled debut CD won over jazz and pop critics, scored two 1988 GRAMMY Awards, landed in the Top Ten Billboard Contemporary Jazz and Contemporary Christian Charts and they’ve never slowed down.

TAKE 6 believes in giving back to communities and designates a select few performances during the year as “benefit” concerts. “It’s a thrill for TAKE 6 to perform in Montreal – our Canadian fans have always been so supportive and we don’t see them often enough in person.  In addition, it’s a pleasure to help raise funds for The Children’s Hospital by doing this show.” says Claude.

Montreal is fortunate to have the group perform such an intimate concert in the acoustically perfect setting of the Gesù, benefitting one our city’s most beloved causes: The Montreal Children’s Hospital.
