Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin recently presented the line-up for the Orchestre Métropolitain’s 2013 – 2014 Season. It was quite an event – with musicians, orchestra sponsors and ticket subscribers in attendance and it’s obvious that the orchestra has gained a tremendous following in its 33 year history. The still youthful Yannick Nézet-Séguin has achieved an international reputation. He is Music Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra, one of the Big Five in the United States; and he also serves as the Music Director for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Yannick continues as the Principal Guest Conductor for the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

He will conduct five of the nine main concerts in the coming season, but will also be conducting nine of the neighbourhood concerts that Orchestre Métropolitain is famous for – taking the orchestra into churches and smaller halls around the city – and at reduced ticket prices.

We’ll have a detailed description of the Orchestre Métroploitain’s coming season in May, but we wanted our readers to be aware that they can visit the orchestra’s website to view the season and purchase subscription ticket packages. www.orchestremetropolitain.com You may also telephone 514-598-0870, extension 21.
