Montreal – The tenor Marc Hervieux and soprano Marie-Josée Lord will be hosting the Jeunesses Musicales of Canada Foundation’s 33rd Auction Dinner on Monday, March 25th, 2013. Held in the magnificent ballroom of the Montreal Marriott Château Champlain hotel, the colourful event will gather close to 300 art and music enthusiasts.

The soprano Chantal Parent, baritone Patrick Mallette and pianist Louis-Andrée Baril will join the duo for musical interludes dedicated to the masters of Romanticism Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner, in celebration of the bicentennial of their birth. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail, followed by a dinner composed by the chef of the Marriott-Château Champlain, silent and open outcry auctions (artworks and exclusive prizes), live painting by contemporary artist Nathan Gilbert, and opera excerpts. All this in a warm and convivial atmosphere!

The profits will go the Jeunesses Musicales of Canada movement (JMC), a non-profit organization who for the past 65 years has been promoting classical music, especially among youth (ages 3 to 12). The JMC movement also supports the career development of the country’s finest young artists, both at home and abroad.

A few places are still available; tickets are priced at $250.
