Clannad returns to Montreal The Montrealer August 20, 2012 4016 For the first time since 1993, the popular Irish group brings their eclectic mixture of Irish music to Place des Arts Clannad, an Irish band, has given a unique voice to modern Irish music and have combined a deep love of traditional strains with a bold approach to writing and recording. Their legacy is a collection of albums, touching on folk, rock, jazz and world music. The award-winning group has sold over ten million records worldwide. The band has been writing together for a new studio album with a release date planned for late September. This will be their first new release since Landmarks in 1998 as well as the first full album to feature all five original members. It will be Clannad’s first concert in Canada since 1993.
